I got a letter today that I thought I would share:
Parents Association of Bellefontaine Habilitation Center 10695 Bellefontaine Road Bellefontaine Neighbors, MO 63137 314-340-6002
Dear Friend,
You were kind enough to be among the thousands of people earlier this year who signed our petition to keep Bellefontaine Habilitation Center open. The Parents Association has fought hard for the Center as it has provided loving care for our family members.
That work and the coalitions that came together of concerned groups and individuals such as yourself helped derail the attempt by Gov. Blunt to close us down this past July. We want to thank you for the part you played in that victory.
However, the administration is still working to shut down the Center, and in fact has shipped off a number of the clients. We are calling on you again to show your support for Bellefontaine, a place that has provided remarkable care for our loved ones, and whose services cannot be duplicated.
Our many partners and supporters will be holding a rally to not only keep Bellefontaine open, but keep intact Missouri's commitment to those who need serious health care but cannot afford it. On Friday, Sept. 23 more than 1,000 concerned people will rally to make our voices heard to Missouri's decision makers. I hope we can count on you again. Make your voice heard for compassion and fairness - attend the rally and show your support for the values Missouri needs to live by.
Friday, Sept. 23 4 pm. Bella Fontaine Park 9565 Bellefontaine Road Bellefontaine Neighbors

They take care of mentally "challenged" (retarded) people. Blunt wants to close 'em down. They're on prime real estate that makes developers drool, and Blunt is all too willing to sell it to them. Bellefontaine.

It's a crime they want to close that down, a real crime. Thanks for sharing that Kender.
