Geez, they are so boring there. I'm tired of every thread being the same, sad shit. Quick summary: "The sky is blue today" "Bush is Hitler." "OK, Bush has screwed some things up but he's not Hitler <eyeroll>" "Bush NEVER screws up, you're just fucked in the head, ya commie!" "New Orleans is essentially destroyed." "It's Bush's fault." "It's Clintons fault." (tie) "Bush would be more godlike if he pumped iron like me."
Are YOU bored reading this yet?

Fuzzy, that place sucks. This place is so dead lately. I miss Rick. Hopefully he'll be online again soon. STL forums have really reached a low point if you ask me and aren't hardly worthy of posting at anymore with the level of players there.

I miss it too. Anymore I stomp around the Democratic Underground www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/, but I think you have to register. They're kinda touchy about people sharing their posts and links and whatnot. There's a ton of traffic, so it's a very satisfying place to go. Love ya's. Miss reading you too!!

Isn't that one of those places that promote groupthink, though? "Hey, you're a conservative! Get the hell out!"

Hi. Just got a new job, and they let me do this while I am here. That's pretty cool. I missed this place, so I'll pop in a bit when I can until I get the internet going.
Wow, my benefits here at Charter rock! Listen to what I am getting:
Every single digital channel Every HD channel MOXI DVR 5Meg internet access
And it will cost me $14 a month. Yippee!

What do you do for Charter? I am a broadband sales specialist. We're like the hot-shot, professional sales department. We sell absolutely everything. It's pretty cool. I'll make at least $40,000 a year, but can make more if I sell well. Good insurance. All that cool free stuff. I'm disappointed, though, because I worked very hard to get an appointment scheduled to have my HD installed tomorrow for the World Series, and now I prolly won't even watch. - Rick

Man, is STLToday pissing me off, specifically FBI, who keeps telling me that I am a cult member because I am a libertarian. It hacks me off for many reasons, but mostly because it implies that my opinions are not my own, but little bits spoon-fed to me by handlers that I puke back out like pablum. Fuck that guy. Here's what I wrote:
I'm done with this thread. You know, I don't come here to make people feel bad about themselves. I don't come here to fight. I come here to debate and discuss. I try to take everyone's position seriously and argue it on the merits, rather than take their whole point-of-view and make bigoted, rude generalizations. It shows respect for the person, even if I don't agree with their position.
I assume that the people I am talking to have come to their opinions on their own, thoughtfully, and I try to respect that. I don't try to cast them as a fanatic or a cult member or a racist, NAZI, or anti-semite. Heck, I don't even cast off people's sources out of hat.
I try to take everyone's opinions seriously, and I'd appreciate reciprocity. On my part, I am going to try and not be baited by these comments into a defensive posture. I will try to ignore them, not respond, and just move on. There are plenty of respectful people here to talk to - I don't have to waste my time on the peurile.
Thank you.
- Rick

Yeah, he can be a bit of an ass at times. He tried to take that attitude to COG which is a very respectful board like here and I kinda told him off about it. Mostly he's just passionate about his convictions. People think they can talk to others any ole way they please on CA forum. I find lately that I lurk over there more than I actually post. The coolest people from CA board are now on COG so I've kinda replaced CA with them.

I got called the Sea Hag of the Current Affairs forum today...by Drummer, of all people. All because I questioned if Bennet was really an "ex-gay".
I kinda like that name...Sea Hag. Maybe I'll change my name.

I only logged in to tell him I was disappointed in his accusation.
I really stay away from there.
