There have been 6 terror alerts in the last two years. Can anyone remember any of them off the top of their heads, other than this last one? Does it have any effect on your feelings about Bush or Kerry when it happens? Does it make you worry at all?
For me, I hardly bat an eye. Maybe it is because we are in Missouri, probably last on their list of intended targets. Maybe it is because terror alerts are far too vague to really seem threatening. I dunno. Any thoughts?

At this point, many of us believe it is Bush's way of keeping us scared. It seems the people most worried about terrorism support Bush, even among gays. I do believe that it is a real threat, I just don't believe this administrations handling of things have made us safer. After 9/11, I was really scared, especially with my daughter living in NYC when it happened. But life goes on. You can't live in constant fear.

I don't even listen any more. I think that's sad. Don't fool yourself about Missouri - it's on the map. I was really on edge after 9-11 - my dad was at the Pentagon. I was weird about letting the kids go certain places. The biggest psych for me was no airplanes overhead. That was freaky. When the first one flew by, I was sure it was a fighter. But then I do have an over active imagination. I wouldn't even consider flying anywhere and I totally flipped when Mom wanted the kids to fly to KS. Roll forward to today - I fly where ever. But I don't watch the news. at all. I read the papers sometimes. I just can't handle too much real world - I tend to jump on soap boxes and preach or crawl in holes and sleep. So....that said...like it or not, there are things going on. Personally I think certain "terrorist" operatives mix up truth with fiction just to keep us on alert so we do all get passive. The fact is, something will happen. We jumped on the security bandwagon fast and furious, but everybody gets lazy, or passive. It's just the way it is. Hmmm. In reading this, I get the feeling I am in a fatalistic mode today. Should analyze that one.

I don't even listen any more. Me either. Don't see the point, actually. It makes more sense to go outside and shout "We're all going to die!! But not today..."

Don't know. At this point I'm not sure if a previous commitment has been canceled or if it's still "on".
