Oh, this has got to be a joke, right? Please? Please, say it's a joke? No, unfortunately it is for real. - Rick

This is totally Orwellian and creepy. I don't know Rick. Still can't get through a whole BD piece. His shit is just too damn long. The Eminim peice was much shorter. But from what I'd read, I don't think it bothers me to have to show ID to travel. Even if that in its self didn't actually make us safer, at least there might be a paper trail if something did happen. If for no other reason than to prevent the fuckin powers that be from attacking some other country that we shouldn't. But like I said dude, didn't read it all. Care to paraphase?

Okay this one is totally creeping me out. I've read way too much sci-fi. My dad is pegged as a "search every time" traveller. My dad. Career military, West Point graduate, DOD top secret certified, small town politician, straight and narrow - well you get my point. But he's pegged because he flies from CA to KY to DC to NJ to FL to....and changes his flights frequently at the last minute - all because HE WORKS FOR THE GOVERNMENT. And he's pegged. Oh and my mom? Who could invite Satan to lunch just to convert him? Pegged. Little ole small town grandma. Pegged. Why? She's married to my dad AND she carried nail clippers on a plane one time. Hysteria breeds idiocy. Whew. Now that's off my chest. My real concern is with the daily invasive stuff. Like the crap about the health inurance act That's just bullshit and its all ready in progress. I don't want just anybody reading my personal health records for any reason. I could rant all day about health insurance. This in itself is insidious. I have a reasonable fear that if a government entity knows, of all things, what I am reading in the library, the FBI is going to come swooping into my home to question my "patriotism". I have to step back now and collect my thoughts. I just can't handle this much knowledge. When I was reading "1984" I thought it was fiction.
