Good point about the FCC only getting tough on broadcasters after the outcries from the public. Their only purpose seems to be to punish the so called offenders. What really pisses me off is the hypocracy of the American people and of the media. Now I will agree that Janet's stunt was probably in bad taste given the time of day and type of broadcast, however there is really nothing offensive about a woman's breast. Look in any women's magazine and you will see much more. Ever look at Vogue? Now I've just heard that CBS (the same network) is planning on showing footage of Princess Diana's fatal car crash, including the last few minutes of her life and her last few breaths. To me, this is so disrespectful to her family and in my opinion, this is the obscenity. Now I can't help but wonder how many of those who were so offended by Janet's exposed breast will be watching this episode of 48 hours.Do you think the FCC will have any objections to this. Doubt it. It just makes me crazy.
I also just have to say for the record that there is nothing about Janet Jackson's body that offends me. Just my opinion.

I have to agree with Outgirl. There are many more things on TV that is worse than a bare breast -- such as all the violence and stemy-hot-sex-soap-opers on daytime tv. Even normal network news broadcasts show worse things.
