Maybe there are a few christians around with enough brain cells to recognize the bible for what it is. A really good history book. While there may be some good teachings located in the christian bible, it seems pretty clear to me that the King James version has been tainted by the very powers sworn to protect and translate its meaning to the masses. If it ever was truely the word of God, it is now a manuscript for every fanatic to justify an agenda of hatred and prejudice. It doesn't seem that far fetched to me that someone who embraces the idea of christianity (love one another, etc.) would also support equal rights or the environment. While I am pro choice, I don't condemn anyone with a differing opinion as long as they don't try to shoot me while I'm at the clinic exercising my right to obtain a safe and legal abortion. The world has changed. Most people now understand that not only is homosexuality NOT an abomination but that we are not going anywhere. We are here to stay and we're no longer satisfied with living a life of invisibility. We are everywhere. We are your nurses, your doctors and your teachers. We check out your groceries. We sell you life insurance. We are your neighbors. Your tolerance is not enough to satisfy any longer. We want the same rights that every other American citizen wants. Visability is the most powerful weapon that we have. When we are known in our communities, we build allies that are stronger than the bible. Because after all is said and done. Knowledge is the true enemy of faith. Peace. That was sooo gay... ;D Seriously, good stuff. I'm convinced. I think gay marriage is right around the corner. That's why you see all this anti-gay marriage rhetoric flying around more than it used to. The movement is reaching a critical mass, all the dominos will tumble, and they can see it happening. They are frantic. All I see is desperation in these acts of sabotage to the advancement of liberty. And I also see hope, because I know these attacks are insubstantial and ineffective. The future is now. - Rick

She may be way gay but you are highly bi, Rick, so don't give me this 33%shit. At least 50%.

Well, statically speaking, if I were more than 50% gay, I'd be with a guy right now, so it must be below that. That's where I came up with the 33% number. ;D But what did you think of the way I brought all that around and had him proving my point for me? - Rick

Meg's not half the man she used to be. But there are a lot of married dudes who should be with a guy right now and aren't so that isn't much of a measure of your gayness. As to your bringing some boy around and making him prove your point, sounds forceful, but I'm not really sure what you mean. I stopped by because rainbowgirldeb was on a rant over here.

That's true, but not in my case. I am with exactly the person I am meant to be with - my best friend (who lets me play with her boobies). As to your bringing some boy around and making him prove your point, sounds forceful, but I'm not really sure what you mean. I stopped by because rainbowgirldeb was on a rant over here. Oh, you should read the first page or so of this thread - it's, as the title suggests, one of my finest moments in debate. - Rick

I think BVD isa closeted gay. Feels guilty and horrified, so he biblethumps the shit out of gays. But frankly, he screams out "do me, baby" like no other. And not to a woman...

GREAT THREAD!!! I stopped reading it after a while. I didn't think anything could come of it. That was good. Rick, oh yeah!!! And all the comments here are great too. I'm starting to feel like the commercial with whatsherface...Joan Cusak..."It's Great! Everytthing's great! Maybe wow...(small pause)...but NO...great is the only way to describe it..." or something like that You know, thats a funny thing, because just before this, I posted something that...I had posted on STL today...to the same guy. Rick...this is scary. Are we related? I just did that before I read this. Dude, that's bizarre! I do wonder if dvb isn't so terribly guilt ridden. Can't argue there's every indication. What a shame, you know? And a meanie too sometimes, but that only follows, doesn't it? outgirl you rock! Yo Karl? Great to see you here! I say we push the Libertarian agenda of getting the goverment the fuck out of the marriage business in the first place. Any one's who wanna claim married status can. And no one has to claim their marriage. Insurance and other issues be damned, that's no reason to allow this religious reich to continue. Rick, your finest hour was fine indeed.

Don't you just love going back and reading threads where you really stuck it to a nemesis?

Good work Rick. Futile, but great. Beev isn't in to dialogue, he's into himself. I'm even under the impression that he doesn't care about witnessing or conversion either. He's pretty much out there to steamroll over everybody he can. He likes the elite status of "heavenbound" and wants everyone else to know that they aren't. Here's the moment I stopped tryng to every have any kind of dialogue with beev. Now I just ridicule him. "I'm not gonna tell you what I mean cause I'm afraid"He got schooled by 3 Lions in the same thread. Notice how he lets it die.

Arguing with BVD is futile. He is just a trouble maker and nothing more. He is obviously insecure or he would not be so boastful. He's an ass. Ontheway is worse because he's smarter...still fuckin nutty as a fruitcake though
