Samantha Marson, 21, from Bridgnorth, Shropshire, was freed from Miami after paying a bond, earlier set at £2,700, according to the Miami-Dade Department of Corrections.
She has been bailed to appear before a court on Feb 6, when she will be asked to enter a plea on a charge of making a false bomb report.
A spokesman for the British Embassy in Washington said consular officials had visited Marson this afternoon, although it is not clear whether the visit led to her release.
