OK, call me an environmentalist whacko. I'm not completely against the thinning of 'old growth' forests, however, I do think there needs to be a provision about planting seedlings to replace some of the thinned timber.
I was glad to see that Weyerhausen practices this, but think it should be mandated in the bill.
Planting seedlings also carries another benefit considering very old trees do not process CO2 into O2 as efficiently as younger trees do. Could making our forests younger actually help our pollution woes?

Just one more reason for CA to fall into the ocean. It seems it would solve all these issues...

i'm just bitter towards that state. why does it get all the attention? lets hear something about montana for a change. or how bout rhode island. I haven't heard any good news lately from rhode island.
