Guess who got a speeding ticket today? If your guess was me, you guessed right. The only real reason I'm writing this is to commend the cop who pulled me over. He was polite, didn't try to violate or coerce me into waiving any rights and got me back on the road expeditiously. He didn't even get pissed when he asked why I was going so fast and I replied (not un-smart-ass-like) that I was in a hurry.
All told, he did a fine job and I thought that deserved mention as there are many police officers out there that fuck with anyone they can get their hands on. This guy was a little older and not the standard-issue 'Marine reject' cop of the present.
BTW, does anyone have any information on 'implied speed limit' in MO, whereby one might argue that the conditions at the time of speeding were such that the rate of speed was not dangerous?

I've heard that in some states if the offender can show that there was little or no traffic and the increased rate of speed, while excessive, was not dangerous (such as the road being straight and flat with no weather or visibility issues) and certainly not reckless then the judge may dismiss charges. I've just never heard of it specifically being used in MO.
