Seems to me that if politicians are so against free trade, then there must be something good there. I never did understand how opening up our borders would collapse our economy and send all Americans to the soup lines. Also, the impact free trade can have on some of the third-world countries can be immense.
Consider the example of P. Diddy's manufacturing plant in Honduras. P.D. was accused of operating sweatshops. Turns out that the workers at his plant make $0.93/hr. which would certainly seem like slave wages to us here in the good ole USA until you consider that the average salary for a worker in Honduras is less than $0.50/hr. Now it seems that Sean Combs may be single-handedly improving the entire Honduran economy

And before the average pf $0.50/hour, they were working their fingers to the bone in the fields for twice as long just to stay alive. Thank God there is a P-Diddy out there who can come around and pay some people twice the market wage for their jobs. - Rick

Hey everyone!!! I think that Rick is totally on. These politicians are really screwing us over by only thinking of themselves. The whole thing about trade and how the money has to come back here to be worth anything makes a lot of sense. I'm really starting to rethink the government and it's selfish ways thanks to Rick. You're my hero!!!

Politics was never about helping the people. It's always been about getting the maximum power for oneself. Lying is tool of choice. As I type Bush is being shown in California, supposedly there to show his care and concern over the areas that were destroyed by the fire. After about 3 minutes, he started pushing his war agenda. He could give a shit about California, this is just a photo op. A nauseating, enraging sight, what a prick.
