I got a good one in email today...but since it's not on a website, I can't post it. Don't suppose this website has a place to upload it to?

I'm just seeing the placeholders, too. If you can see the photo's Rick, it's probably because they're on your pc locally. You might try re-uploading them to geocities.

It could be that Rick has just discovered that he has a superpower. Ok, I'm tired - really tired - and thus goofy. When I went to the URLs that were emailed to me, thinking that perhaps they did not allow people to link to pictures (some places do not, because it's like stealing bandwidth). The page I was taken to said that the page I asked for didn't exist.

You don't see 'em? I totally see 'em. Any suggestions, web-savvy people? - Rick I see them, too. Could be a difference in browsers. Just as an expiriment, I brought up IE and viewed this page, and I saw the red x where the pictures should be. Then I tried an old version of Crapscape I still have around -- broken links. But, with Opera the images appear fine. AHA!! I've got it! I went back to my preferences and enabled 'referer logging', hit 'reload' and the images disappear. I disabled this, hit reload, and they're back. My guess is, geocities does not like image links (some web hosts regard this as bandwidth theft) and refuses connection to any HTTP request with the "referer [sic]" tag in the HTTP header. Opera and Mozilla have an option to not include this information, which apparently 'fools' whatever coding geocities did in attempt to foil the effort. Just a novice's guess....

Interesting, but how come when I went directly to the URL of the pictures, it said that there was no website?

Interesting, but how come when I went directly to the URL of the pictures, it said that there was no website? Same reason, I suppose. What browser are you using. Not all browsers handle the referral process per spec. When you type in the URL in the window at the top, the browser is not supposed to include the referral, but I think some do. I still see the pictures in your message fine, so I know the URL is still valid. And, I just tried entering the address directly in both Opera and IE, and the pictures displayed fine. I loved one with the kid hanging on, by the way, and took the liberty of swiping it.

I just would love to meet the guy who had the balls to do that. I wonder what happened to him...probably shot...or raped...or castrated. ;D
